Our Mission is to Simplify the Block Graft Procedure to Make it Predictable And Easily Incorporated into Your Practice

BGM is an online course taught by Board Certified Periodontist Dr. Naheed Mohamed using 5 clinical modules

 Block Grafting Masterclass Program

This Masterclass will teach you how to easily incorporate the block graft bone augmentation technique in your practice. A simplified easy to learn system that will make you confident in applying block grafting into your bone grafting armamentarium.

This online program deconstructs the bone block procedure to focus on each aspect of the technique with special attention to technical details and tips which are overlooked in most courses.

The Block Grafting Masterclass will teach the advantages of autogenous bone and fundamentals of block grafting for bone augmentation surgery. We will teach you how to use CBCT data and 3D printing to plan and easily harvest bone blocks from the ramus/external oblique ridge, chin, and torus with greater accuracy and safety.

The program will teach you the instrumentation you require for harvesting bone blocks through intra-oral donor sites as well as bone block preparation and fixation to the recipient site. Special focus will be given on bone block management with regards to harvesting bone chips, splitting bone blocks, and fixation of the bone blocks to the recipient sites.

The use of both autogenous bone and allogenic bone plates will be taught with detailed explanations with tips and tricks to simplify the procedure and make predictable for successful augmentation results. Numerous cases will be presented to showcase this technique and procedure with surgical photographs and video.

The cases are from Dr Mohamed’s private practice and he will be continuously updating the cases section of the masterclass as he fully documents more and different block grafting procedures.
 BGM TRAINING MODULES
Module 1: Biological Concepts of Autogenous Bone and Instrumentation
This module will focus on the biological benefits of autogenous bone, the concept of the Khoury Plate technique, and the introduction to the bone block procedure. The second part of this module will cover the instrumentation required to perform these procedures with ease and success.

BGM Members Will Learn:
- Introduction to the bone block approach and the structure of the course
- Biological advantages of using autogenous bone and the science behind it.
- Introduction to the bone block technique and the Khoury Approach
- A detailed review of the instrumentation required to perform bone block procedures
Module 2: Intra-Oral Harvesting of Autogenous Bone Blocks: Ramus, Symphysis, and Torus
This module will review key anatomical areas and how they pertain to block graft harvesting. How to use CBCT data to analyze donor sites and aid in planning the block harvesting procedure. The use of 3D printed models and guides will also be shown as aids in simplifying the harvesting from multiple intra-oral donor sites.

BGM Members Will Learn:
- An understanding of the anatomy of donor sites
- How to use CBCT scans to plan and harvest bone blocks with safety and accuracy
- The use of 3D printing for models and guides to aid in harvesting bone blocks safely and quickly.
- Step by step approach to easily harvest bone from the ramus/external oblique ridge, the chin (symphysis), and mandibular tori.
Module 3: Bone Block Management: Bone Splitting, Harvesting of Particulate Bone, and Screw Fixation
This module will focus on the bone management once the bone block has been harvested. The module will focus on harvesting bone chips from the donor sites and bone blocks, how to split the bone blocks to double the harvest, and how to fixate the bone plates into position with screws. The module will focus on the recipient site and how the bone plates are fixated in position and how particulate bone is packed around the plates to complete the recipient site augmentation.

BGM Members Will Learn:
- How to harvest bone chips from bone blocks and donor sites using bone scrapers
- How to split bone blocks to double the bone plates with diamond discs
- How to fixate the bone plates for the Khoury Approach and pack particulate bone around the blocks
- An understand of fixation screws and their design
- When to add allograft and when to use a membrane and when it's not needed.
- How to augment the recipient defect site for predictable results.
Module 4: Surgical Case Presentations: Putting it All Together
This module will cover multiple cases of bone block augmentation procedures with different donor bone block sites. These cases will be presented in photographs and video to simplify the learning process. This module will continue to grow throughout the years as Dr Mohamed updates cases as well as adds new cases from his private practice.

Members Will Learn:
- How to put all the steps together and complete a full procedure
- Pre-operative and postoperative regimens, instructions and medications
- Multiple cases will be shown with donor sites from various intra-oral locations
- How to put cases together from planning to execution and maturation of the bone graft
- Understanding of how to orient bone blocks for different defects
- How to use bone blocks with simultaneous implant placement for combined treatment
- How to gain both horizontal and vertical augmentation using bone blocks.
Module 5: Allograft Cortical Bone Plates
This module will introduce the allograft cortical bone plate. A review of the allograft bone plate product and its indications will be discussed. Multiple cases will be shown with regards to how to use allograft bone plates for horizontal and vertical augmentation. The preparation and technical details of using bone plates will be discussed and shown through surgical cases.

Members Will Learn:
- An understanding of the allograft bone plate product and its benefits and drawbacks
- Indications and uses of allograft bone plates
- Preparation and techniques for using allograft cortical bone plates.
- How to complete the allograft bone plate augmentation procedure
- Case presentations showcasing the Allograft Bone Plate Approach
